Starting Sail Boat races

Unread postby Steve » Mon Jan 11, 2016 5:17 am

Sail-boat (yacht) racing often has several groups of boats that start at different intervals.

The starting sequence requires a audible (speech) count-down that requires a dedicated person to call the time.

This requires a dedicated volunteer.

Can Xnote timer be progammed to trigger the announcement of different user-recorded speech (which may include instructions to the start committee) at various parts of the count-down sequence?

The timer needs to autoreset at the end of the sequence and start a new sequence for subsequent starts.

Please advise.

Thanks

Yes. See Pre-timeout alarms and colors section.

Thanks for that
I have now had a play.

Question 1

I noted that the unlicensed version can only handle 3 time-out alarms. I need a lot more. However, while testing it became confused, with the user-chosen count-down speech files bearing timing resemblance to when they should be generated.
=> occasionally it spoke two files together even though they were supposed to come out at different times.
=> the "3" was announced at 10 seconds

etc.

Would this be resolved with a license?

Question 2
Can a personal license be staged on multiple personal computers?

Thanks

Do you have an email address??
I can't upload attachments.. It wont let me.
I can't save the setup file either, but I have taken a screen-shot of it. I'll forward that with the sound files when you give me an email address.
You can get mine from the forum login..

Thanks

Teamviewer might have lags (we already have ones, we do not need else). A video filmed with a mobile would be 100% proof of what happens.
