Make sure your COM port in functional.

I did as you said, connected a simple switch to the pins as in the diagram, but nothing happened. I did check the enable box etc.

It is only one cursor on desktop, but controlled from two devices. No conflicts occur during experiment :D

Yes. Tested on my computer. It's better to assign key, that you do not use regularly(for example - middle key).

For modern PC's is another inexpensive solution: remake old usb mouse(solder external button wires to mouse microswitch connections) and assign mouse button(to wired microswitch) in Hotkeys... .
